As a first-generational farming family, we are on a mission to promote regenerative agriculture and pasture raised chicken, fuelled by our deep passion for ethical and nutritious food.
In 2016, seeking a career change, we, along with our two small children and dog, left our suburban lifestyle behind to begin an epic farming adventure that would span over two Australian states and three years before finally landing on the Ridge.
Our introduction to regenerative agriculture came while watching the documentary “Food Inc” and seeing Joel Salatin’s innovative farming approach.
Armed with minimal farming knowlege and facing financial hurdles, we sought a better way to produce food.
Sam’s dissatisfaction with conventional farming systems ignited a relentless research in the field of Regenerative Agriculture.
He even applied for farming internships in VIC and NSW, though opportunities didn’t materialise until we returned to Western Australia to save for our own farming venture.
Moving to the South-West, where Steph grew up, we established Rosa’s Ridge with the backing and support of Sam’s dad.
It was a challenging start, battling regulatory approvals and extensive cleanup efforts.
Despite these hurdles, we emerged as pioneers in Western Australia’s pastured poultry industry, marked by our commitment to efficiency and innovation.
We are determined to change the face of farming and food production in Australia, aligning with growing consumer concerns about food sources and ethical practices, and we invite and encourage others to be part of this transformative journey with us.
Join the Rosa’s Ridge community and get the latest from the farm.
